Meal Maker Fridge helps you find recipes from a photo of your food. This policy explains what we collect,
why, and your choices. We keep it short and plain.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address and a securely hashed password (a display
name is derived from your email).
- Food photos — the photo you take is sent to our service to identify ingredients
and suggest recipes. We do not store your photos; each image is processed in
memory to produce recipes and then discarded.
- Usage and purchases — how many scans you have used, your remaining free scans and
purchased credits, and the App Store transaction identifier for any purchase (never your card
details).
Who we share it with
To make the app work, limited data is processed by:
- Google Cloud (Vertex AI / Gemini) — your food photo is sent to identify
ingredients and, where applicable, draft recipes.
- Spoonacular — the detected ingredients (text, not your photo) are sent to return
real recipes.
- Apple — handles all in-app purchases and payment; we never see your card details.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time from within the app (the
Delete account option on the home screen). Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
Data retention
We keep your account details and usage record until you delete your account. Food photos are not
retained after processing.
Children
Meal Maker Fridge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
